Bruce Allan and Greg Armour were out for a run on the Matcheetawin Trails in Fort McMurray, Canada, when a black bear cornered them – and stalked them wherever they went.
As they desperatey tried to scare the animal away, the bear simply carried on following them – getting closer and closer.
Greg revealed: “We turned and we headed up a trail. We went up a part that we hadn’t been on before.
“We got to a point where he basically had us cut off.”
Allan added to CTV News Edmonton: “I was ready for him to pretty much pounce on me at any time.
“He marched us up almost a kilometre of trail before we got turned around and came back again.”
Fearing for their lives, the two men back away before grabbing rocks to keep the bear at bay.
Finally sensing an opening, they then run for the safety of their car before reporting the incident.
